I was reminded of my past years recently. A girl was sitting near me in the Language Learning Lab, cutting out paper dolls and listening to a Japanese ghost story. Yuki Onna (Snow Woman). Her lips were moving just seconds behind the words. I remember those days. The holidays would be coming up, but all that would consume my mind was the giant kanji test coming up. All 375 symbols. Wait, that’s not right. It would have been only 200 symbols or so. And this blog was only the roughest concept. A ghost of an idea put too quickly into physical form by the demand of an academic course. Back then, reviews were sporadic, a bit too long and had less humor (assuming anything I write could ever be put into such a prestigious category). Now this blog contains weekly reviews, articles, and monthly streaming picks. They’re even released in a timely fashion (we’ll blissfully forget about that one oddly timed Pick of the Month post…) thanks to my discovery of the “scheduling” option on blogs. This place has come a long way and I’ve learned a lot. Not to mention all the anime I watch! Good gracious the anime! This blog has given me a wonderful excuse to dive deeper into these shows, share my observations with others and also witness the new age of animation. Simul-casts, streaming shows, company surveys… So much has happened over this year alone. It’s such an honor to be a part of it all.
This post is the 50th post on my blog. To every single one of you who either follows, likes or reads these posts: Thank you. And I hope this place can provide you with entertainment, information and a smile for years to come.
Thank you all! <3
